LIER - Rudi Van Steen
(45) werd in 1999 lid van de pinksterkerk 'Jezus leeft' in Lier. Hij
was toen ongeveer 32. Hij ging met een jeugdige groep van 'Go Teams'
naar Azië en besloot toen om in Indië als hulpverlener actief te
blijven.
Dankzij de vereniging 'Youth with a mission',
waar ik onder andere een behoorlijke training kreeg, had ik de kans om
als hulpverlener naar de Andaman en Nicobar-eilanden te trekken in de
Bengaalse Baai', steekt Rudi van wal. 'De bedoeling was om er een
aantal projecten op te zetten zoals scholen voor de kinderen en
cursussen voor de jonge volwassenen, zoals naaien en steno-dactylo. We
gaan nu een schooltje oprichten in Naugachia , een behoorlijk dorp van
zeker 30.000 inwoners in de staat Bihar. Men had ons in 2002 al
gevraagd om daar iets te doen voor de opvoeding van de jeugd, maar
eerst nu hebben we de nodige middelen en voldoende menskracht om een
school op te starten.'
The Yadav are one of the largest and least evangelized people groups of the world. 57 million people living in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan. (More then 25 million in North India)There are very few Christians among them.
Peoples started praying for more workers among the Yadav as prayer cards were distributed in churches and on conferences. What is the result? More and more people get interest to work among the Yadav people.
YWAM North India adopted 6 people groups to focus on. (Brahmin, Rajput, Jat, Yadav, Ansari muslims and Tibetan. (Totalling 260 million people!!!)
Several church planting teams decided to minister focused on the Yadav people and some other organizations grow in interest to train and send people to this strategic but unreached people group.A Yadav contextualized evangelistic movie will be a great and effective tool, as most of them are oral learners.

We zijn zo dankbaar voor Karin. Zij heeft MFAN België verschillende jaren trouw gediend met een niet altijd even gemakkelijke boekhouding.
Zij stopte er mee en heeft daarvoor zowat de beste rede die wij maar bedenken kunnen… zij gaat samen met haar man, Ronny, naar Indonesië om daar betrokken te zijn bij een bestaand zendingswerk.
Bihar. Only sometimes I hear someone speaking something positive about Bihar. Bihar is therefore in many ways neglected. Every year hundreds of square kilometers of Bihar flooded with all the consequences. Relief workers come but if the greatest need is met most of them go.

Since 2001 people have asked us to start a school in Naugachia. The request is still not answered. Now we plan to start the school in April 2009.
Naugachia is one of the many villages that annually are troubled with flooding. Many Yadav people also live in the village. This allows us to focus on flood victims, Yadav people and children all in the same village.
The invitation we got in 2001 was from a Yadav family that I met during a train trip from Bihar to Mumbai. It was a divine appointment. They had wanted to become Christians for several years but in Naugachia there were no believers, no church, and no bible or mission school. Therefore please pray and give as the Lord leads you, and you will be a huge blessing for this precious village with about 30,000 inhabitants.
